Valeo Medicine Ball Jul 06, 2010 This purchase has totally improved my fitness! I do exercises with the ball before I go to the gym and I have noticed a dramatic increase in my core strength. I also recently noticed great improve meant in my golf swing from using the ball!! Rubber odor strong upon arrival, but not noticed after a few uses.
good med ball Jun 30, 2010 Perfect size for an 8# med ball, nice grip. I haven't thrown it against anything but it looks like it will hold up well.
Did not give it 5 stars for 2 reasons:
1. Will not do exercises for me. ;-)
2. Smell of ball (rubber). Diminishing now, but it has been over a month. How much longer before my hands don't smell of manufactured rubber?
it's functional May 17, 2010 It's a medicine ball. I've had it only a month, but it's been fine. Haven't needed to bounce it (and don't plan to).
Serves It's purpose Feb 14, 2010 My first complaint is the Rubber material that the ball is composed of has an awful odor, almost like fumes. Also other reviewers stated that the ball was easy to hold onto and that is not the case. Maybe if you have large hands. Better off using leather workout gloves to get a better grip.Cannot use it for certain exercises as instructed in some videos. Mainly holding the ball in between ankles because the ball is to hard. Better off researching the product by the exercise platform you want to follow and whether or not the soft or hard medicine ball will accomodate your needs. The soft ball was an option online, but I had originally purchased it in the store and twice their enclosed video did not work and they gave me a difficult time about returning them. I do use it because it serves it's purpose but in the future I would research the product thorougly to insure that it meets all my expectations or just go through the trouble of returning it when not completely satisfied.
solid piece of equipment Dec 29, 2009 I put a client on a medicine ball routine to help him get started. 8 lb ball was a good size for him to begin with. If someone is intermediate to advanced, you need to go with a heavier ball. I used the 12 lb ball myself and it still wasn't heavy enough. He'll grow into the 12 lb quickly (within a month) if he keeps working at it. You should buy 8, 12, 20 and 25 pounders if you want to be able to grow with this type of equipment. Make sure you have room to store them as they are awkward if you don't have a stand.
