 A chronicle of a three-year run where the Oakland A's were the most powerful team in baseball Apr 08, 2008

In the years 1988, 1989 and 1990, the Oakland Athletics were by far the best team in baseball. They went to the World Series each year, losing in 1988 and 1990. This book is a set of brief textual captions featuring the major components of those teams surrounded by a large number of photographs. The pictures are of action and leisure, capturing the team members relaxing and performing. Truly a dynasty at the time, they have been one of the most successful teams over the last thirty years and this is a chronicle of one of the most powerful teams ever to take the field.

There is no better book that can get you this close to the A's dynasty of the 1988 to 1991 time period. The players trust in Zagaris is seen in the relaxed nature of the players in the behind the scene shots. This book has to be in your library if you're an A's fan. When historians need images from this time to illustrate their words 100 years from now, they will begin with the visual compositions of Zagaris. I have photographed A's games in the presence of Michael. I have seen the effort he puts forth into every shot. The eye Zagaris has for the moment combined with his experience as one of the Bay Area's unique artists, results in a book that will be looked through many times by anyone who loves baseball and obtains this book.
