The Cross fairway wood is constructed of the famous 17-4 stainless steel. Plasma welding saves more than seven grams of weight for even greater re-distribution of weight. The Cross fairway wood is available as a three, four, five, seven, or nine-wood, with a variety of lofts, ranging from 14 to 25 degrees, and club head volumes ranging from 170 to 130 CCs.
Genex Cross Technology The Genex Cross manufacturing process removes mass from 16 areas of the club head before a carbon-composite cap is attached. Other carbon-composite clubs remove weight from the crown without maintaining the structural integrity of the club head. In special tests designed to analyze carbon-composite technology, the Cross clubs performed with great success without the super-light carbon-composite cap being fastened. This proves that the Cross technology not only preserved its structural integrity, but it actually gained strength with its weight saving design technique. Approximately 65 percent of the weight of titanium and 80 percent of the weight of steel could still be repositioned lower and deeper in the club head for added forgiveness and playability. This weight transfer from top to bottom produces the optimal combination of high launch angle and low spin rate.
