Wonderful for passing on family stories Apr 05, 2010 My brother and I created this game for our parents' 50th Wedding Anniversary eleven years ago. Properties consisted of things like homes they'd lived in, schools they'd attended, organizations for which they'd worked or volunteered, vacation spots they'd frequented. Good News and Bad News were true-life incidents in their lives (how my dad broke a tooth on his new bride's bean soup, etc.). As time has passed, we've added Good News and Bad News cards with anecdotes of children and grandchildren (e.g. when my sister and friend accidentally locked themselves out of a mountain cabin on a snowy winter night, in pjs and barefeet). Not only has this become a "family history book", but a treasured game to play at family gatherings -- a fun way for family history to be passed on. In fact, the young grandkids were usually the ones to request that we play it. And just yesterday, my mom brought "Larsonopoly" with her to Easter Dinner. We older ones enjoyed reminiscing as we landed on, for example, our childhood homes. What a satisfying experience to listen, when her grandson got a "Good News" card, to Mom retelling the sweet story of how she and Dad (who passed five years ago) met. The one thing I wish we had done is laminate the game immediately after we created it, as the print has worn down with time. However, I believe Mom is getting that done today. :-)
Don't Buy This Cheap Knockoff Jan 07, 2010 For starters, the box is a lie. see those clean images they've placed on their Monopoly board? The program only works with bmps, and even then it makes the bmps much, much lower in quality. This is only useful for those of you who want to make some sort of 8 Bit Video Game themed Manapaly (this isn't Monopoly, I figure Manapaly is a nice cheap knockoff name for it. Like Spoder-Man and the i-Pud.)D
What this offers is simply -minor- customization. Street names (but not the prices), low quality images for the streets and 4 of the 4 corner spaces, 24 cards to divide between "Good News" and "Bad News" (yeah, you can't name them yourself), and that's pretty much it.
Don't be fooled by the box or the product description. You're better off getting some other board game kit, or simply getting some cardboard, markers, paints, paper, etc. and making your own boardgame from scratch.
make your own monopoly Nov 23, 2009 this is fun for family or friends to put together, but not really like the real monopoly.

Make your own opoly Aug 04, 2009 I was expecting a make your own version of Monopoly. The game sent to me did not share enough of the monopoly features, such as railroads, jail, and just visiting squares. The tokens are not made of metal. The pieces that are provided do not resemble houses or hotels. If I knew it had so few features of a monopoly game, There was no cardboard (only paper)provided to make the deeds. I would not have ordered it.
Lots of Fun! Jun 26, 2009 I used this product for a sales presentation within my company and it was a hit! It was very user friendly and although not exactly like the original Monopoly, I would recommend this to anyone who wants to make their own.
