From the supplier: The Buffalo Sabres' organization expects that its insurance will cover the estimated $3 million in damage from an accident with a scoreboard at the Marine Midland Arena. The 20-ton, 23-foot, $4.5 million scoreboard fell while being lowered during a pre-game equipment check on Nov 16, 1996, injuring no one but smashing to pieces. A similar incident with a Jumbotron scoreboard occurred in 1988 at the Charlotte, NC, Coliseum.
