Excellent lifting straps. May 20, 2010
By D. R. Martin 1.5 inch wide straps made of nice, stiff heavy duty cotton with the ends caped and sewed so no fraying which was a nice touch.
Once they are secured on your wrist there is lot of strap to work with, about 8 inches, which I like so you can get a real nice cinch on the bar.
Replacing my favorite straps which were starting to tear after 10yrs or so.
These are my new favorite straps and as they are a lot like my old ones, well made with good material, they should last for years of continuous use.
The inner padding is a bonus.
Beware, there are lifting straps sold by Amazon that are thin, too short and made of cheap flimsy material... these are not those straps.
You will not be disappointed with these Altus lifting straps.

Great Product, Even Better Price Feb 11, 2010

There are many similar products as these lifting straps, but these are the best price. They are well made, and the padding is an extra bonus. Other straps sell for the same price without padding, so this was a no-brainer.

Good Product Nov 03, 2009
By J. O'Brien I am very pleased with this product because i've had the opportunity to compare it with lifting hooks and these straps were much better. I am now able to deadlift over 400lbs, one arm row with 150lb dumbells and more.

Quality has seriously gone downhilll... Nov 16, 2011
By HC I've been using a pair of Altus lifting straps since 2005 that were now getting frayed and worn. I ordered these thinking they would be the same quality. However, immediately when compared with my older Altus straps, I notice the logo is now different, the padding is actually nearly half thinner than the older straps, and that the cuts and sewing/stitching on the newer straps are so poor, that I cannot believe these got by quality control. Not only are the stitches not centered, but they are very shoddy and I feel that these won't even last me a few months.
They fit awkward compared to my last ones, they have thinner padding, and that the nylon is a lot cheaper and thinner than before. I get that everything is Made in China now, but so were my last pair of Altus straps. Those were even cheaper than what I paid for these on Amazon, so how could something be more expensive in a few years, but even worse than before?
I'm going to use these as much as possible, starting now, and I'll edit my review if they rip soon. I'd say, pay the few extra bucks now and purchase a much better pair with thicker stitching, better padding, and higher quality construction. No need to risk injury just to save a few bucks. Seriously Altus, I'm not impressed and feel like uploading a picture of my older ones just to show how thin and cheap the new Altus straps are.

Cheaper than retail stores Apr 20, 2010
By J. Orcio
"Just A Buyer from Philly!"
Definitely cheaper here... I went to Dick's Sporting Goods and it cost $15 at Dick's. I went to Sports Authority and it cost $20. When I bought this, good thing I had Amazon Prime Trial membership, so the shipping cost was free :D
