Good ground seat, does the job Nov 01, 2008
By js A quality product it seems: after a year or so it holds up very well, so I have no reason to give it anything less than five stars. Works fine for its intended purpose of outdoor use which is mainly keeping you seated on the ground with a lot less strain to your back and sit bones area than you would've experienced without it. It surely makes your time by the campfire, or at the rocks (watching your buddies climb, etc.), more enjoyable. It weighs only 21 ounces or so, and can be easily folded/ rolled to fit in a backpack. Embroidered company logo is a nice touch.

Take a seat Jun 24, 2009

When you don't want to carry a seat but still be seated comfortably to listen to a concert in the park or reading a book somewhere in the outdoors, this is what you should get. It's not heavy, doesn't need much space, therefore can stay in the trunk of a car or in a NYC apartment and it serves the purposes for a reasonable price. Why not 5 stars. The product designers should have thought a bit more how to make it more comfortable carrying it around.

Good for sitting - GREAT for canoeing Jul 09, 2011
By Elise J.

We bought three of these (for our family of 3). I don't love sitting this low to the ground now that I'm in my *ahem* 40s... but they do a nice job if that's what I must do.
Where these turned out to be a lifesaver... CANOEING!!! I have always disliked sitting upright in a canoe for hours, with no back to my seat - no leverage for paddling. I saw someone else use one of these once, and I thought I would give it a try.
Each adult had one on either end of the canoe, and my son (who had to sit on the metal bottom of the canoe) was able to put his in the middle and finally have a real seat.
Totally worth it.
FABULOUS!

A Bit Too Minimalist For Me May 08, 2011
By Rebecca Kraemer I bought this along with the GCI Outdoor SitBacker Canoe Seat thinking I would use this for camping since it's nice and light, and I'd use the SitBacker for day-trips on my canoe. I've got to say that despite my love for lightweight minimalist gear, this is only barely better than sitting on the ground. The angle is odd for my back no matter how I adjust the straps and the material is so thin that I can feel everything underneath. I ended up bringing the SitBacker out camping with me and the slight extra weight and bulk was well worth it for the comfort. I'll probably be returning this.
Light and practical but just a little small May 01, 2012
By Mr. Eel Great chair overall, it is light and very functional. I would definitely feel fine packing this in my backpack for the long haul as it is pretty minimal in weight and not bulky at all. Beats sitting on the dirt
Pros: small light somewhat adjustable for you angle of lean
Cons: back piece just a little short, after long periods of sitting my back is still a little sore mesh pocket at back of chair is useless
I'll update as I have only had it for a few weeks and have yet to really abuse it.
INFO: I am 5'8" 160lbs and the chair comes up just above midway on my back.
